David Taylor Gomes is a Composer, Pianist, Musical Director, Actor and Educator. He is best known for writing the music and lyrics for BOXED UP: THE MUSICAL SERIES and RANKED, which is the subject of the HBO Documentary “My So-Called High School Rank” streaming on HBOmax . He has musically directed numerous productions including LEGALLY BLONDE (starring Rhiannon Hansen) IN THE HEIGHTS, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, ANDREW LIPPA’S THE WILD PARTY, A CHRISTMAS STORY, INTO THE WOODS, THE UNFORTUNATES (for which is is also the orchestrator), and many others. He has also performed as an actor in many musicals including MURDER FOR TWO, THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS: THE MUSICAL, and THE LITTLE MERMAID. David also coaches singers, actors, and pianists of all ages. His students have performed on Broadway, National Tours, The Disney Channel, TV/FILM, and regional theatres across the US and internationally. David is a founding member of Uproar Theatrics, a digital licensing company where he works in acquisition and artist engagement to assist songwriters and playwrights, many of whom are Pulitzer and Tony nominated. David is a member of Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), The American Federation of Musicians (AFM), The Dramatists Guild, and The American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP).
